Goldendoodle Breed Health
At Gertie's Goldendoodles, we strive to simultaneously improve the Goldendoodle bloodline and provide you with an outgoing, healthy, and happy puppy!
We believe health is very important, especially when breeding puppies, and we start with the parents. Extensive health testing has been completed on the Sire and Dam (father and mother) before approval for breeding.
Sire and Dam are clear of:

- Heart Defect
- Degenerative Myelopathy
- Ichthyosis (Golden Retriever in parent's heritage)
- Neonatal Encephelopathy with Seizures
- Progressive Retinal Atrophy 1 & 2 (Golden Retriever in parent's heritage)
- Progressive Retinal Atrophy
- Von Willebrand Disease 1
- Von Willebrand Disease 2.
Your Puppy's Health Guarantee
Initial Health Guarantee
We guarantee that, at pick up, your Puppy is in good health. All our puppies have been evaluated by our Licensed Veterinarian and have had all age appropriate vaccinations and de-wormings. You will receive complete copies of your puppy's health record.
Vaccination Requirements
It's your responsibility to have your Puppy examined by a Licensed Veterinarian within 72 hours of pick-up and to inform us of any health issues found. Untreatable diseases diagnosed in this time can qualify you for a full refund not exceeding the purchase price of the puppy.
You agree to administer all core vaccinations by a Licensed Veterinarian only. After core vaccinations are administered, we ask that you strongly consider titer testing your Puppy’s antibody levels for the rest of their life instead of revaccinating your Puppy every year.
Two Year Genetic Health Warranty
With extensive health testing completed before breeding, we are proud to guarantee your Puppy is free of inherited genetic defects affecting their quality of life until they are 24 months of age.
This includes Hip & Elbow Dysplasia, and Progressive Retinal Atrophy. Diagnosis of a genetic condition must be done by the appropriate certified professional. Diagnosis of Hip or Elbow Dysplasia must be diagnosed by OFA and copies of x-rays and reports must be presented. Conditions of the heart must be diagnosed by a certified Cardiologist; conditions of the eye must be diagnosed by a certified Ophthalmologist.
We reserve the right to get a 2nd opinion from a Licensed certified professional. In the event a qualifying genetic defect is found, we will provide a refund for the purchase price of the puppy.
Returns
Our guarantee applies only to the original purchaser. You must keep your Puppy at a healthy weight and provide regular check-ups by a Licensed Veterinarian.
The warranty may be void if the Puppy's joints are subjected to overstress by excessive exercise, weight, or physical injury acquired through training, play, or other activities or, if the puppy has been neglected, malnourished, or allowed to become obese.
